Zero Waste, Zero Harm
Our commitment to sustainability has been at the heart of our business for over 30 years. We do this by being part of the world’s largest open pallet pool, prioritising the collection, reconditioning and reuse of pallets and wooden packaging, ensuring units are relocated to where they are needed in the most efficient way possible.
Powering the Circular Economy
The circular economy is based on the principle that materials never become waste and products and materials are kept in circulation through their reuse, sharing, reconditioning and recycling. This creates a closed-loop system, reducing the strain on resources as well as lowering waste, pollution and carbon emission levels.
We call it the Erico approach – a foundation of our business and operating model with clear benefits for all customers, as well as the communities and planet around us. Powering your business: by harnessing the circular economy you can support your own customers to empower their sustainability agendas, creating stronger relationships.

- Powering our planet: maximising the life of all products and materials reduces demand for raw materials.
- Powering revenues: driving down costs through the reuse of pallets and wooden packaging lowers material inputs, resulting in cost savings.
- Powering sustainability: we create more resilient and agile supply chains as customers benefit from our shared network, reusing pallets that are already in circulation, while securing quick and seamless supply for continued business success.

Zero waste
Our business model is built on the recovery, reconditioning and reuse of millions of pallets and wooden packaging units every year to ensure their continuous reuse. This is the foundation of the Circular Economy, and we further extend this by recovering all serviceable components from pallets that are beyond economical use, to recondition other pallets.
This significantly reduces our reliance on new timber which forms less than 1% of all our reconditioned units. CO₂ emissions associated with producing and transporting new timber components are drastically reduced as a result.
Any timber that cannot be reused is recycled for use in the production of chipboard products, or used as feedstock in Biomass Energy from Waste (EfW) plants. Meatals are also recycled for future use.
Zero Harm
Being a responsible partner also means Zero Harm to our customers and colleagues, whilst also contributing positively to the communities around us.
Employee welfare, community care and planet protection underpin our commitment to driving sustainable supply chains. Everyone has a right to feel safe at work, making Zero Harm a priority. But everyone also has a right to see their communities cared for and thriving, making Zero damage to the environment an equally important mission.
